| Mingling with celebrities at the Water Polo. |
6 August 2012
Sports of my selection. Back to ExCel arena for some semi final action in the Women’s Table Tennis. Total domination here as expected from the Chinese girls with the only slight challenge provided by the 37 year old Korean chopper in match two. After an early finish thanks to the three nil drubbing it gave a chance to take our time on the way back to Olympic Park. We alighted at West Ham and took the Greenway Walk which took about 25 minutes but relatively crowd free and deposited us at a different end of the site.
Had a nice stroll around and easily found the way to our seats at the Water Polo by 6 and noted a celeb sitting adjacent. Annette was suitably impressed by the proximity of our seats to the competitors as the photos prove. After a strange match up between Italy and Spain where in my opinion the Spanish played dead, it was back to Stratford and the tube home. Still feeling pumped up I set off to the Lords Tavern for a nightcap but alas it was closed so after a fairly extensive search I ended up at the Marrakesh on the Edgware Road for a quiet pint or two while the locals enjoyed their sheesha.
